Episode Summaries

Episode 1: It's Hard for an Eagle to Soar When You're Surrounded by Chickens

  • Reward Challenge: The tribes would face off in pairs. The four castaways would race along the beach to dig up a single bag in a designated lane. The castaways would then have to race back to their respective finish mat. The first person to be touching the bag and their finish mat would score a point for their tribe. The first tribe to score three points would win. Challenge from Survivor: Panama and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.
    • Reward: Flint.
  • Immunity Challenge: One castaway would stand at the top of a tower and pour water down five gutters held by five castaways. The water would fill a barrel, which would release a net of puzzle pieces when full. The four remaining castaways would assemble the puzzle. The first tribe to assemble their puzzle would win. From Survivor: Nicaragua.
The contestants were brought into the game on helicopters, and Jeff told them they all of them had either amazing physical ability, the Ponoka tribe, or amazing strategical ability, the Kiaayo tribe. Jeff then told them that the game was immediately about to begin, and told them about their reward challenge. Although Kiaayo put up a decent fight, Ponoka was able to win the first reward challenge of Survivor: The Canadian Wilderness. At the Ponoka camp, the tribe thought the game was theirs, and that Kiaayo wouldn't stand a chance against them. The men of the tribe - Ozzy, Terry, Fabio, Colby, and Tyson - immediately bonded and formed an alliance. They wanted to get one of the weaker women out right away. At the Ponoka camp, the tribe was able to start fire without the use of flint thanks to Rob. Alliances immediately formed, with three major groups. Rob, Courtney, and Yul were one alliance, Russell, Parvati, Marty, and Erinn were another alliance, and Richard, Alina, and Cirie were the third alliance. It had immediately turned into a battle between Rob, Russell, and Richard, with each person wanting control of the tribe. Rob said his skills were being held back, and said that it's hard for an eagle to soar when you're surrounded by chickens. At the immunity challenge, Ponoka took an early lead, but they struggled on the puzzle, allowing Kiaayo to win the first immunity challenge of the game. Back at Ponoka, Jenna, Stephenie, and Amanda joined the guy's alliance, which left Jane and Alicia on the chopping block. The alliance thought their was a good reason to vote off either of them. Jane was physically weaker than Alicia, but she was more liked by the tribe. On the other hand, Alicia was physically stronger then Jane, but she was considered much more annoying. The girls also discussed teaming up and voting out one of the guys, and Stephenie and Colby talked about voting Amanda out. At tribal council, Stephenie, Colby, Amanda, Ozzy, Terry, Tyson, Fabio, Jane, and Jenna voted for Alicia, while Alicia voted for Jane. Alicia became the first person voted off in a 9-1 vote.

Episode 2: If You Don't Feel Paranoid Playing Survivor, You're Not Sane
  • Reward Challenge: In a series of 3-on-3 matches, each team has to push their large ball across a muddy field into their opponents' goal, while preventing the opponents from doing the same. The first team to score 2 goals wins the reward. From Survivor: China.
    • Reward: A tarp and blankets.
  • Immunity Challenge: One at a time, four tribe members would crawl in the mud under a net and then retrieve a ball from a stack of hay. Once all four balls were retrieved, three tribe members would use small shields to bounce one ball at a time into a barrel. The first tribe to have all four balls in the barrel would win. From Survivor: Nicaragua.
After tribal council, Jane was the odd-person out, so she didn't know what to do. She didn't like the guys alliance, and thought she might be able to convince Jenna, Stephenie, and Amanda to vote with her at the next tribal council, but she would still need one more person. At Ponoka, the tribe predicted who was voted off. Richard, Rob, Yul, and Cirie guessed that Amanda was voted off, while Alina, Courtney, Russell, Parvati, Marty, and Erinn thought Jane was voted off. At the reward challenge, they were all shocked when they learned Alicia was voted out, but thought it would give them an advantage in challenges. They thought correctly, and won the reward challenge and the tarp and blankets that came with it. Back at Ponoka, the tribe decided to get to work on their shelter, and were led by Boston Rob. Cirie saw Rob as a leader, and wanted to get him out, knowing he was a threat. She talked to Richard and Alina about it, which made them worried. Richard told Alina that Cirie was just as much of a threat as Rob, and she just showed that by trying to get out one of the most dominant players. Richard was rethinking his alliance with Cirie. At the immunity challenge, Kiaayo easily won, sending Ponoka to tribal council. Back at Ponoka, the alliances were trying to decide who to vote for. Rob, Courtney, and Yul wanted to vote out Russell, while Russell, Marty, Erinn, and Parvati wanted to vote out Rob. Cirie wanted to vote out Russell as well, but Richard decided to make a move. He told Russell that Cirie was the biggest threat, and that if they didn't join up to vote out Cirie, Russell would be voted out. Russell thought it wouldn't make a difference if Rob stayed for a few more days, and told Richard he would. At tribal council, Russell, Richard, Alina, Parvati, Erinn, and Marty voted for Cirie, while Rob, Cirie, Courtney, and Yul voted for Russell. Cirie became the second person voted off in a 6-4 vote.

Episode 3: You Guys Really, Really Blindsided Me
  • Reward/Immunity Challenge: The tribes would face off in a series of one-on-one sumo-style battles. The castaways would use padded duffel bags to knock their adversaries out of a ring and into the mud. The first tribe to win eight bouts would take Immunity. Challenge originally from Survivor: Palau, version used was the adaptation from Survivor: Fiji and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.
    • Reward: Tribal immunity, plus coffee, sugar, rice for one week, and a luxury item for each castaway.
Rob was shocked that Russell was still in the game, and felt blindsided. He wanted Russell gone no matter what, and he didn't think that he should still have been in the game after their first tribal council.
