Episode Summary:

Episode 1: "Here We Go"
  • Reward/Immunity Challenge: The tribes have to maneuver across a broken bridge by using two planks. Going down to a raft with a torch carrier, they will get on the raft, put their torch on the holder, and then push the raft to get to the island that is across the way. At the island are two sets of ladder rungs that they need to grab and then go to another raft. The tribe has to pull on the rope to get back to the other island. Once they get to the other island they need to put the rungs on the ladder, climb up to a fire pit, and light it.
    • Reward: Waterproof matches, and immunity
A plane carrying 16 Americans landed on the plains of the Australian Outback. They were already divided into two tribes, Ogakor and Kucha. Each tribe had a crate containing water, food, a compass, a map to their camp, and other various materials. Each tribe took all their supplies and started on their long trek to their camps. Michael quickly emerged as a leader on Kucha, much to the chagrin of Alicia and Jeff. On Ogakor's hike, Colby and Keith quickly became frustrated by Jerri and Amber's complaining. Soon enough, both tribes arrived at their camps. Kucha quickly got to work on their shelter under the leadership of Mike. After the shelter was finished, Mike went out to look for food with Debb. Alicia confronted the tribe about Mike's abrasive personality. Most of them agreed that Mike's leadership was annoying and unneeded, but they also agreed that Mike was still too important to vote out. At Ogakor, an early friendship formed between Amber, Jerri, and Mitchell. Another friendship was formed between Tina and Maralyn. Colby, Keith, and Kel were the major forces in building the shelter, although Tina and Maralyn were also very helpful. Mitchell, Jerri, and Amber, however, just sat around and talked. They refused to help with the shelter, which annoyed the rest of the tribe. That night, Mitchell became very annoying in the shelter when he began to hog room, which didn't leave enough room for Tina and Colby. During that night at Ogakor, Tina and Colby bonded while sleeping out of the shelter. At Kucha, Kimmi was very loud when the rest of the tribe was trying to go to sleep. The next morning, most of Kucha was annoyed with Kimmi, which Kimmi quickly realized. She tried to work hard to redeem herself. At Ogakor, Tina and Colby were angry at Mitchell for kicking them out of the shelter. Jerri and Amber noticed that Mitchell was more hated than them and used this to their advantage. They decided to work and stay out of trouble so he would be voted out first, not them. At Kucha, Michael was impressed by Kimmi's hard work and formed a friendship with her. The next day, the tribes were given word of their first immunity challenge. At the immunity challenge, Maralyn struggled in the challenge, which let Kucha win immunity. At Ogakor, Mitchell was the choice of the tribe to go home. Mitchell tried to get Jerri, Amber, Kel, and Colby to vote out Maralyn. Those four discussed it together, they knew that Mitchell would be stronger in challenges, but he was more annoying. At tribal council, Mitchell's efforts failed and he was the first person voted out in a 7-1 vote.

Episode 2: "Is This Our Downfall?"
  • Reward Challenge: “Butch Cassidy”: Each tribe member has to jump off a small cliff, and swim out to a floating crate. Once the tribe member is touching the crate, the next person can jump. Once all members are at the crate, they must dive down, unhook the crate, and swim it down through the rapids and back to shore.
    • Reward: Two blankets
  • Immunity Challenge: One member from each tribe will eat whatever the wheel Jeff spins lands on. Most spaces contain aboriginal food, or “bush tucker” while some have smoother food (apple, candy bar). Refusing to eat or not being able to finish the food loses a point for your team. Each person must eat at least once.
After Tribal Council, Jerri and Amber were worried about their place in the tribe. Even though they had voted him out, Mitchell was one of their closest allies. They knew that they would be the next two voted out if they couldn't switch it up. The tribes received tree mail about their first reward challenge. It was especially important for Ogakor, because if they won, they would finally get matches. And Ogakor desperately needed fire to boil water. At the reward challenge, Ogakor narrowly beat Kucha in the race through the rapids. Back at camp, Ogakor celebrated their win by finally getting a fire going. The mood was high, and there was harmony throughout the tribe. Kucha, on the other hand, was doing bad. After they returned from the challenge, Mike gathered the tribe together, and gave them a motivational speech about how immunity was the only thing they needed to win. Alicia and Jeff went out to search for food. While they were searching, they formed an alliance to get Mike out. Alicia and Jeff both had dominating personalities, and Mike clashed with them. The next day, Keith got into an argument with Jerri over cooking food. Keith had messed up the rice. The entire tribe had been upset about it, but Jerri called him out. They got into an argument, which put Jerri's and Keith's heads on the chopping block. At Kucha, Mike brought back a pig for the tribe to eat. There were mixed reactions from the tribe. They were happy that he caught a pig for them to eat, but Alicia and Jeff knew it would be hard for them to vote him out after he became a major food provider. Jeff told Alicia that he would try to show up Mike, so that Jeff will become the provider of the tribe. Back at Ogakor, Colby and Tina brought Keith and Maralyn into their alliance. With those four, they had a majority, and they could vote off whoever they wanted who at this point as obviously Jerri. Jerri and Amber were still very close, which left Kel as a wildcard. Nobody knew where Kel stood in the game. He either be an asset to them or a hindrance. Jerri and Amber pulled Kel and Colby aside, trying to make an alliance with them to vote out Keith. Colby and Kel didn't give a definite answer, which worried Amber and Jerri. The next day, the tribes were given news of their second immunity challenge. At the challenge, Amber and Kimmi both failed to eat their food. They were both selected to be in the tiebreaker round. Amber got the food down faster and won immunity for Ogakor. Back at Kucha, Kimmi was the reason they had lost the immunity challenge, but Mike had other ideas. Mike reminded the tribe that Rodger had lost the reward challenge for the tribe, which upset Elisabeth who was close with Rodger. At tribal council, Mike's plea ultimately failed when only he and Debb voted with Kimmi, while the other five voted out Kimmi. Kimmi was the 2nd person voted out in a 5-3 vote.

Episode 3: "In The Minority"
  • Reward Challenge: Each tribe would select one member to hold a pole on their shoulders, and one “loader” who placed the buckets on the pole. The remaining tribe members would traverse a long balance beam with a pole on their shoulder with one bucket on either side, and hang it on the opposing tribe’s pole.
    • Reward: Fishing gear with line, hooks, lures, and a net
  • Immunity Challenge: Each tribe, tethered together, would race through a log sheet, down a sand slide to and across the river, climb over obstacles, and sprint across the sand to the finish line.
Mike and Debb were worried after coming back from tribal council. They were the only ones who had voted with Kimmi against Rodger, and now their heads were on the chopping block. Elisabeth and Rodger were especially mad at them. The next morning, Debb tried her best to get in the tribe's good graces. She began working even harder, even though it was still nothing compared to Mike. At Ogakor, Keith and Jerri got into another fight over cooking again. Keith had overcooked the rice, and Jerri was done with him. She volunteered to do the cooking from now on, but Keith wouldn't have it, and they began to fight. The rest of the tribe was tired of their constant bickering, and they just wanted one of the two out. The two tribes were given word of their next reward challenge. At the reward challenge, Colby and Mike were selected to hold the weight. The challenge went for a long time, but eventually Mike gave in and dropped his pole. Back at camp, Ogakor celebrated their win, and Kel and Colby went out to catch fish. They brought back 4 decent sized fish, which Jerri was given the opportunity to cook. Jerri did it well, which upset Keith. At Kucha, the tribe was down after their third straight loss. The only person the loss didn't seem to affect was Mike. He just went right back to work, which worried Debb. Debb was now the obvious choice to be voted out next, and she knew that the tribe needed to win immunity. The next day, Ogakor awoke to Jerri cooking their breakfast of rice, which she did better than Keith had ever done. Keith was obviously upset about this, because being the cook of the tribe was what kept him safe. However it was Amber who was now on the chopping block, because she was the lazy member of the minority alliance. At Kucha, Debb spent more time trying to socialize with the others, especially Rodger and Elisabeth. Mike just worked hard, and he didn't socialize. The next day, it was time for another immunity challenge. At the immunity challenge, Maralyn and Rodger both struggled for their tribe, but Ogakor pulled ahead and won immunity. Back at Kucha, Mike blamed Rodger for the loss and told the tribe to vote Rodger out. Elisabeth and Rodger were upset by Mike, and they tried to convince the tribe to vote out Mike instead of Debb. At tribal council, Rodger's and Elisabeth's plan worked, and Mike was the third person vote out in a 6-1 vote.

Episode 4: "Last One Standing"
  • Reward Challenge: Each tribe must unscramble a slide puzzle, giving them a map to their reward.
    • Reward: Three egg-laying chickens and a rooster
  • Immunity Challenge: A questionnaire, with questions from their survival handbook given to them before leaving for Australia. There are six spots per tribe. Each correct answer moves the tribe up a spot.
Debb knew she was in trouble now. She was the last person standing of her original alliance, and she was the obvious choice to vote out next. The next day, Rodger and Elisabeth were happy that Mike was finally gone, because Mike had always belittled Rodger. The entire Kucha tribe was in harmony because, even though she was on the outs of the tribe, Debb fit in well with the tribe. At Ogakor, the tribe wasn't in total harmony. There was still a lot of tension between Jerri and Keith, because Keith was jealous that the tribe respected Jerri more as a cook. The tribe was also annoyed with Amber's laziness. Amber usually just sat around and talked with whoever she could find. At the reward challenge, Kucha won reward when Jerri and Keith argued over putting the puzzle together. At Kucha, the tribe's spirits were even higher because of their win. They celebrated by eating one of the chickens, which everybody enjoyed. There was no fighting at that point, and everyone got along. At Ogakor, the tribe knew that the animosity between Jerri and Keith was bringing them down, and one of them would have to go home, even before Amber. That night Keith tried to cook rice again, and this time he did it successfully. Jerri knew she was in big trouble because somebody could replace her as cook if she got voted out. The next day, the harmony at Kucha broke when Nick accidentally let the rooster go. Jeff and Alicia chased it down, and they eventually caught it. Nick knew it shouldn't have been a big deal, but because everybody was so close in Kucha right, the smallest blunder could get you voted out. At Ogakor, Keith made the rice perfectly again, which made Jerri even more nervous. She took Colby, Amber, and Kel aside again and made sure their plan was still on, but Kel and Colby still wouldn't give a definite answer. Amber and Jerri became increasingly paranoid about their position in the tribe. Their paranoia was evident in the tribe, making Jerri the number one choice to vote out again. The next day, Jerri became worried about the immunity challenge, because it was her only chance of staying in the game. At the immunity challenge, Elisabeth, Jeff, and Debb got the first 3 right for Kucha, while only Maralyn got the answer right for Ogakor. Then, Tina and Jerri got the next question right for Ogakor, and only Alicia got her question for Kucha. Rodger and Colby got the next question right. That left Nick for Kucha and Kel and Amber for for Ogakor. Kel got the next question right, but Nick missed it. It was a showdown between Nick and Amber. Amber got the final question right and won immunity for Ogakor. Back at Kucha, Debb was obviously on the chopping block due to her not being apart of the main alliance. Debb tried to convince the tribe that she deserved to stay over Nick. At tribal council, Nick's mistakes caught up with him, and he was the fourth person voted out in a 5-1 vote.

Episode 5: "Can We Win For Once?"
  • Reward Challenge: Each tribe must build a stretcher. At the challenge, two tribe members (the rescuers) must go rescue the remaining three members (the victims) scattered around the course and bring them back to the triage unit. Once the victim is back to the start, they become a rescuer and go with the others to get the next victim.
    • Reward: Two items chosen from the Survivor catalog by each tribe, plus toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and shampoo
  • Immunity Challenge: Each maze has 5 totem poles with a medallion attached to each. As a unit, they must maneuver through the maze and collect the medallions in order, then find their way to the finish line.
Debb was excited after tribal council. The tribe had decided to keep her over Nick, and now she could be the swing vote between two difference alliances. Things were looking up for her in the game now. The next morning, Rodger, Elisabeth, Alicia, and Jeff discussed what to do if they went to tribal council again. They could use Debb as a swing vote between the two alliance, or they could have the foursome stick together and vote off Debb. Rodger and Elisabeth wanted to stick together, but Alicia and Jeff wanted to use Debb as a swing vote. They couldn't come up with a decision. At Ogakor, Tina and Maralyn discussed a difference strategy. They could create a women alliance, and vote out all the guys, who would be bigger threats at the merge. They didn't say anything to Amber and Jerri yet, but they kept the idea in their minds. At the reward challenge, it was a close race, but Ogakor pulled ahead and won. Back at camp, Ogakor celebrated their win by finally getting clean, which lifted everybody's mood. Even Jerri and Keith were getting along. At Kucha, even though they had lost, everybody's spirits were still high. They were all getting along, which furthered the tribe's doubts about voting out Debb next, because she meshed well with the group and worked hard. They wanted to give her a chance, but they couldn't ignore the fact that she wasn't in the original alliance. The next day, Jeff and Alicia talked strategy with Debb. They asked her if she would vote out Rodger if they went to tribal council again. Debb agreed, because she felt that she could get in between Jeff and Alicia easier. Rodger and Elisabeth noticed that those 3 were missing and began to worry. When they got a moment, they pulled Debb aside and told her that they were going to vote out Alicia at the next tribal council. Debb agreed to that too. Now Debb was stuck in the middle of two alliances, and she had no idea which one would be more beneficial to her. At Ogakor, Tina and Maralyn finally discussed creating an all female alliance with Jerri and Amber. Jerri and Amber quickly agreed. They went off by themselves and discussed the alliance between the two of them. They agreed that the alliance was probably just a trick to keep them loyal, and they couldn't trust Tina and Maralyn. They considered telling the guys about the alliance, but they thought that the guys were probably in on the plan. There was nothing they could do now, but hope to win immunity. The next day, Jerri and Amber were worried about the immunity challenge. At the immunity challenge, it was another close race, but Ogakor prevailed again. Back at camp, the Kucha tribe discussed who to vote out. Both sides had told Debb who to vote out, but they were having second thoughts. The foursome of Rodger, Elisabeth, Alicia, and Jeff decided that voting out Debb might be a better choice for the tribe, but neither side was certain of what to do. At the tribal council, the foursome stuck together and Debb was the fifth person voted out in a 4-1 vote.

Episode 6: "Splintering Alliance"
  • Reward Challenge: Each tribe selects one set of eyes while the rest are blindfolded. The set of eyes will navigate the tribe through a series of tasks. First is getting two logs into a sawhorse, then switching out a fishing trap on land for one in the water, then filling up a bucket with water from a water tower, and pouring it into a wine barrel until it overflows, then finally getting a picnic basket to the final table.
    • Reward: Doritos and Mountain Dew
  • Immunity Challenge: Each tribe member fills a bucket with water. They then must maneuver an obstacle course. At the end of the obstacle course, they will empty their bucket into a giant barrel. When the barrel is full enough, it will lower and raise a flag. First tribe to raise their flag, wins.
The Kucha tribe was depressed after tribal council. They had just voted out Debb, who was a great member of the tribe. They also knew that their alliance was falling apart, and they needed to save it before the merge. The next day, the Kucha tribe decided to unite again and try their best to win the reward and immunity challenge, so they wouldn't have to vote anyone out. At Ogakor, Tina and Maralyn were growing concerned that Amber and Jerri were unwilling to talk strategy with them now, which led them to believe that they told the guys about the alliance proposal. At the reward challenge, Kucha's unity propelled them to an easy victory. Back at camp, the Kucha tribe was excited about their win. The tribe was more united than ever. They had a small feast and shared stories about their lives. At Ogakor, the tribe was saddened by the loss, but they didn't let it stop them from working. They gathered food and had a feast of their own. Amber and Jerri finally talked with Tina and Maralyn to inform them that they hadn't told the guys about the alliance they had formed, and they were still on board with the idea. Tina and Maralyn were relieved that they weren't in trouble with the guys, and they were excited that Jerri and Amber would be loyal to their alliance. The next day, the Kucha tribe discussed what they would do if they lost the immunity challenge. They wanted someone from their tribe to end up winning, but they had no idea who would have the best chance to win. Jeff and Alicia would be physically strong and able to win challenges. Elisabeth and Rodger would be socially strong and able to make friends with the Ogakor tribe. They couldn't come to an agreement on who to vote out. At Ogakor, Kel noticed that Jerri and Amber didn't seem as nervous as they used to be. He told Colby and Keith that he feared a female alliance could have been formed. Keith told them that he trusted Tina and Maralyn to stay loyal. The guys decided to trust Tina and Maralyn. The next day, Kucha was worried about the challenge. At the immunity challenge, Ogakor selected Kel, Colby, Jerri, and Amber to compete against Rodger, Elisabeth, Jeff, Alicia. The tribes started out neck and neck, but Rodger eventually slipped and couldn't regain his composure, allowing Ogakor to pull ahead and win immunity. Back at camp, Kucha felt terrible about the loss, especially Rodger. They gathered together one more time to discuss tribal council that night. Rodger came forward and volunteered to be voted out. Elisabeth was against the idea entirely, but he told her that she needed to vote him out so their tribe could be strong at the merge. Elisabeth spent the rest of the day alone with Rodger. At tribal council, the Kucha tribe, even Elisabeth, honored Rodger's request and voted him out. He was the sixth person voted out in a 3-1 vote.
