Want to be on survivor

Hey-- I have applied for survivor 14 times. I believe that the contestants are selected on a "character" basis. The whiner, the alpha male, the gay guy, the good looking bathing suit girl. There are not as many "average" folks. Models, actors, football players, olympic gold medalist etc.. They sprinkle a couple of regular folks in but for the most part if you are not in California--you won't get recruited. Bummer I would rock survivor. 5  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

I want to be on Survivor too. Obviously...
So, I think that you're missing the fact that each person is chosen based on how they will interact with all the other people. You've got to make it interesting by putting in people who will give the audience surprises and add in some suspense. Although, I do agree... None of them are average people. They all stand out.

Isabellalea--I think you hit the nail on the head---they work so hard at trying to anticipate how each cast member will react and interact with each other that they miss individuals that would make good cast members. The natural differences and likenesses make interesting contrasts without having to be so contrived. I guess I am a bit "miffed" because I feel that I would be as good as many of the cast that has been chosen over the years and better than a lot of them. I absolutely wdould not have quit, I think that CBS should interview each person that has applied 10 or more times. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

after 14 attempts to get on Survivor i can see y you are a little "miffed", dont give up PT2ya58, the odds are so against us, but y ever give up on a shot at a million bucks, and a chance of a lifetime...Look , if Richard Hatch can get on,, any of us could get on...lol,, good luck in your quest,,,,The mind does tricky things to ya after a short period of time with no food or comfort,, unless i went out camping for 30 days with nothing but a can of rice, i would not know for a fact if i would quit or not,,, not 2 many Survivor applications have done that, nor have I..so i imagine it is hard for them to pick guaranteed NO QUITTERS,, i am sure every person that has quit the show also said i would never quit,, I like to Believe i am tough enough, and that i would never quit,, peace,,Ace Do you find this valuable?

I would like to think I wouldn't only be eating rice, Ace. I could make traps to catch any number of animals - no problem.

i absolutely believe that if they picked 18 to 20 real ordinary people it would be a very interesting show, pluck middle america out of their homes and put them in the stew pot....it would be so much better than the mostly cookie cutter, los angelians they are putting out there. as far as being fed, i think ace would gain 20 lbs on any island, common he trecks 60 miles into the woods to kill a moose and then carries it all out, he would get fat on an island where you only have to do a little swimming and climbing to get food...lol,,,,luv ya little bro...L Do you find this valuable?

Hey, I'm an Argentinean survivor fan. It's not aired here so I watch on youtube evrything I can get my hands on. if u have appied 14 times then you know the requirements, so I'd appreciate if you could tell me what they are. Please dont tell me to surf cbs.com cuz i've done that one too many times. My greatest concern is: do I need to be American? Do you find this valuable?
