Hey mystical , Bobs Lasso was cool, Down in the country we have wood bees they drill holes in ones pourch , under the eves of the house an such. when you get close to them they will haver like a helicopter, then we take a BB gun an shot them out of the air , it takes 3 or 4 shots before you connect , I guess insted of tieing him up we would have to put him back together ,,,,,insect vet. watch out for those stingers Ricky!! Insect vet...ha ha pretty funny. Can you imagine that being a real profession? I don't know maybe lucrative being so......rare....but then again who would spend $ on a pet insect? Most of them don't live longer than 2 months..... But seriously can you believe he did that? I think you, me and B are the only ones who have watched this video. I can't believe he actually lassoed that thing in mid air and I laughed my butt off when they told him he had to tie it's legs together.... Do you find this valuable?

I had a girlfriend who would make little flannel outfits for katydids. Seriously. She was priceless!!!! We all liked the Beatles, and her dad had just given her a great new car, and she asked us if we wanted to drive over to England to see the Beatles. She was NOT entirely all there in the smarts department. And I thought I was bad ;-)

btw J - nice profile picture! I want to go live there. Can I, can I, please?

he he too funny. I take it katydids are bugs? Now, going to see the Beatles would've been smart! And yah, I LOVE the tree too. Just found that the other day looking for trees....I needed to be inspired and was looking for a "tree of life" for a project I'm working on....but when I saw that...... I thought Whoa....now THERE'S some inspiration. Kinda made me think of Lothlorian - the elfin forest in Lord of the Rings. I don't think it looked like that in the movie but it's exactly what I was thinking when I read the books all those years ago - gosh it was the 60's (man!) when I read it the first time and I was most likely stoned the entire way through that forest (and probably all 3 books)!!! I was SO hooked on Lord of the Rings - ya, the book is superior to the movie, the way that always is - and then I used severely poor judgement and read a satire called 'Bored of the Rings' - I've regretted it ever since!! :(

I always thought katydids were praying mantis, but my hubby says no -- I keep meaning to look it up, but ya know ......

Did you ever have the one where, if you told a lie, 'darning needles' would sew your lips shut? those are dragon flies. I still tell as much of the truth as I can because of that.

so, mebbe, insect vet? Might convince an injured dragon fly to spare my mouth if I took him fixed?

kthxbye

(learned that from the kids - it's probably already obsolete heheh)

Yelp ! Just call me The Bug whisperer ...... Got somthing elce share, Back in the spring it was a nice cool Day so the doors were left open to air out the house . after about an houre or so I came back inside , setting in the middle of the floor was my doughters cat , just stareing up at the curtains , there barely hanging on was a tiny humming bird , I stomped the floor after the cat an she beat it out the door , reached up an gently took the humming bird of the curtain, it was lieing limp in my hand with his eyes allmost closed, Thinking poor thing , Then an idea , I took the hummer out to the humming bird feeder hanging from the pourch, took it down an worked his tiny beak into the hole in the feeder , I could his little tounge start working in an out , slow at first , then faster an faster ,his eyes started to blink! he started to wiggle in my hand , I loosened my hand an away he went , such a small life I saved made me happy I was able to do such a thing :-0)
